SOPOT (www.sopot.pl) is the 'summer' capital of Poland and well known seaside resort, where thousands of international tourists walk along the pier or soak up sun on the beach. Sopot has great places for leisure and recreation: cinemas, an opera house, tennis courts and art galleries. It is surrounded by a picturesque countryside, full of forests, hills and crystal lakes. Sopot lies between two major cities, Gdańsk and Gdynia.

GDAŃSK is rich in history of over 1000 years with monumental Gothic cathedrals. It holds a special place in Poland's recent history as the cradle of Solidarity. Artur Schopenhour - the philosopher, Jan Heveliusz - the famous astronomer and Gunter Grass - the Nobel prize winner in 1999, all come from Gdańsk. In the north you can find a modern, fast developing industrial and port city called GDYNIA.
